In November 2022 I spent the day at the Cafe Show at COEX. By the end of it I’d done a lot of walking and had a lot to carry. I’ve lived in Seoul since I was ten, but I didn’t want to take all of that home the same night. So the two of us booked one night nearby, in an Urban Double at Hotel Peyto Samseong.

The stay is mine. Prices, rules and room details come from the hotel’s site and booking sites, checked in September 2026.

The short version. It’s under ten minutes’ walk from COEX. When I checked on September 19, 2026, a Deluxe Twin was US$100 a night on Trip.com. Shilla Stay Samseong COEX Center, about the same distance away, was US$129. For one or two nights, or a work trip, it works well.

Good for people at a COEX show or event, business travellers in Gangnam and Samseong-dong, and anyone coming to see COEX itself.

Skip it if you want a pool. There isn’t one on the hotel’s official list of facilities.

How close is Hotel Peyto Samseong to COEX?

Trip.com puts it 0.37 km from COEX Convention Center. When I stayed, the walk took me under ten minutes. Don’t expect five, though. There’s a crosswalk on the way, and you’ll wait for the lights.

COEX also has several entrances, so your time depends on which hall or door you’re heading for. Look up your event’s hall before you go.

After a long day at the show, that closeness was the whole point for me. I could walk straight to the room with all the bags and rest. There are also plenty of places to eat around the hotel.

What room types does Hotel Peyto Samseong have?

The hotel’s official site lists five room types:

Superior Single15 m²1 singleNot listed
Deluxe Double22 m²1 doubleNot listed
Deluxe Twin22 m²2 singlesNot listed
Urban Double24 m²1 doubleBathtub
PEYTO Suite40 m²1 kingFreestanding tub

We had the Urban Double. With two of us and our suitcases open, it didn’t feel cramped. The bed was soft, and I fell asleep fast and slept well.

There’s only one PEYTO Suite in the whole hotel, so don’t expect to get it. I also couldn’t find the width of the “double” beds in centimetres. If that matters to you, ask the hotel before you book.

Which rooms are left changes a lot from date to date. Check your dates on the booking sites and compare what’s actually available.

How do you get to Hotel Peyto Samseong from Incheon Airport?

Take airport limousine bus 6103. It costs 18,000 won for an adult. Korea City Air Terminal, which runs the bus, lists about 65 minutes from Terminal 1 and about 85 minutes from Terminal 2. Traffic can make it longer.

If your flight lands late, check the last bus. Korea City Air Terminal lists the last one into the city at 11:30pm from Terminal 1 and 11:10pm from Terminal 2.

The hotel says to board at stop 7A-3 on the first floor of Terminal 1. At Terminal 2, it’s stop 21 on basement level 1. Get off at the COEX City Airport Terminal stop.

If you come in by subway instead, use Samseong Station on Line 2, exit 5. The hotel says it’s a 7-minute walk. I did it pulling a suitcase and it took under ten minutes. It wasn’t hard.

What does it cost right now?

Deluxe Twin, per night on Trip.com
US$100
Deluxe Twin, per night on Klook
US$120.35

Sep 27–29, 2026, 2 adults, taxes and fees included. Prices checked on 19 September 2026. They change — treat this as a starting point, not a quote.

These are Deluxe Twin rates. The same room was about twenty dollars more on Klook than on Trip.com, so it’s worth checking both.

For comparison, I looked up two other hotels on Trip.com for the same dates and two adults. Shilla Stay Samseong COEX Center was US$129 a night. The cheapest room at Oakwood Premier COEX Center was US$199.

So Peyto came out cheaper than both. Shilla Stay is about the same distance from COEX, which makes it the fairer comparison. I only compared those two, so I can’t tell you this is the cheapest hotel near COEX.

The honest downsides

Urban Double bathroom with a bathtub and a fixed glass screen

Water got out of the bathtub. Our Urban Double had no separate shower. You showered standing in the tub, and there was a fixed glass screen. Even with the glass there, water ended up outside the tub when we showered.

By the time we’d finished, the floor around the tub was soaked. We put towels down, those got soaked too, and then we were short of towels. I called the front desk and got more.

That was one room, one night, in 2022. I didn’t find other guests describing the same thing in the reviews I could read. Still, if you book the Urban Double, have a spare towel within reach before you turn the water on.

Several reviews say the room is small. On Trip.com, two reviewers who called their room “a bit small” or “tiny” had the Superior Single, the 15 m² room. One with a Deluxe Twin wrote “Small room but clean.”

A Traveloka reviewer also called the room “exceptionally small” but didn’t say which type it was.

Toiletries and towels aren’t always consistent. A reviewer on NOL, a Korean booking app, says there was no conditioner, even though the official list includes it. An older TripAdvisor review, from 2018, mentions worn towels. None of these comes up often.

What recent guests say

The praise is steady on TripAdvisor and Trip.com. As of September 13, 2026, the hotel had 4.5/5 on TripAdvisor from 674 reviews and 8.9/10 on Trip.com from 668.

The same four things come up again and again:

  • Location. This is the most repeated one. Guests like being near COEX, Samseong Station and the airport bus.
  • Clean rooms. Several reviews on TripAdvisor and Trip.com say so.
  • Staff. A number of TripAdvisor reviews name staff members who helped them.
  • Shower pressure. A few reviews on NOL say it’s strong.

When I stayed, I saw a lot of foreign guests at the hotel. I can’t give you a number, but you won’t be the only one.

Things foreign guests get caught out by

  • No free toothbrush or toothpaste. Traveloka says they’re sold at the front desk for 1,000 won each. Pack your own, or buy them at the desk when you check in.
  • The deposit. The booking sites don’t agree. Trip.com says no deposit is required. Traveloka says the hotel may ask for a card or cash deposit for extra charges. I couldn’t confirm an amount, and I don’t remember it from my stay. Ask at the desk before you hand over a card.
  • Extra beds aren’t a given. Trip.com says extra bed and cot policies vary by room type. If there are three of you, check the room details before you book, or ask the hotel.

FAQ

What time are check-in and check-out? Check-in is from 3pm and check-out is by noon, according to Trip.com and NOL.

How much is breakfast? Trip.com lists 19,800 won per adult. I didn’t eat it, so I can’t tell you what it’s like.

Is there parking? Yes. The hotel charges 10,000 won per night, with a limit of one car per room.

Can I leave my bags after check-out? NOL and myboutiquehotel list luggage storage, but I couldn’t confirm it on the hotel’s own site. Ask at the desk. If they can hold your bags, you can check out and still spend the day at COEX.
