Checked In Korea

A Seoul local reads the fine print so you don't have to.

Affiliate links

Some links on this site are affiliate links to booking platforms. If you book through one, the platform pays me a commission. It costs you nothing extra — the price is the same as going there directly.

Every post that contains one says so above the first link, not buried at the bottom.

What I don't do

I don't take sponsorships. No paid stays, no paid placements, and no property has ever paid me to write about it. No property gets to read or approve a review before it goes up. That isn't going to change.

If a place isn't worth the money, the review says so — and the link stays up anyway, for anyone who wants to book it regardless.

Places I haven't stayed in

Some of what I write about, I've stayed in. Some I haven't — and where I haven't, the review says so plainly, near the top. Those posts stick to what can actually be checked: the location, the rates and what they include, the rules a foreign guest runs into, and what guests report over and over. I don't write a place up as though I'd slept there.

Images and takedown

Every image carries its source in the caption — the property's own material, a booking platform, or my own photo. AI-generated illustrations are labelled as such.

If you own an image used here and want it removed, email checkinjun@gmail.com and it comes down. No argument, no delay.

Prices

Every price on this site is stamped with the date I checked it. Korean room rates move constantly, especially around holidays. Treat any figure here as a starting point, not a quote.
